Suggestions For How To Diaper Your New Baby

Do you know what the number one thing new dad’s are usually scared about when they bring their young baby home from the hospital? How in the world do you put a diaper on a little baby? If you’re currently having this feeling then know you’re not alone. This article will help you with all the basic steps to get you proficient at diapering. Your baby will appreciate it, and your wife will love it even more.

The first thing to do is get prepared. You will need all your changing items in one location because once the baby is there you can’t go anywhere. Never leave a on a changing table alone! First, wash your hands. Second, gather all your supplies… a diaper, changing pad, wipes, and diaper cream. I highly recommend buying cheap diapers. It will save you a ton of money in the long term. Now get it all set up and ready to go.

Now that you’ve got everything ready to go you can go get your baby. Lay them down on the diaper pad and undo their clothes and pull them far up and out of the way. You don’t want those clothes getting dirty in the process because that will just lead to more work for you. Now undo the diaper tabs and pull back the front of it. Don’t pull it all the way off in case there is an accident.

Take your wipes and gently clean off your baby while pulling away the old diaper. Sometimes it is easier to grab them by the ankles and lift them up a little bit to get a good view. Some babies don’t like cold wipes either. You can either buy an expensive wipe warmer or just hold it in your hand for a couple of seconds to warm it up. If the diaper is a poo make sure to clean it all away thoroughly. This means wiping from front to back. It can get things dirty if you wipe the other direction.

Ok now that your tiny baby is clean, you can lay the new diaper underneath of them. Make sure it is a good fitting diaper (aka the right size). The side with the tabs goes on the bottom. Pull the sticky tabs out and attach them firmly to the front of the diaper. Don’t tighten it so much that your baby will have red marks but you don’t want it tight enough that there won’t be any leaks. Make sure to examine all around the diaper to make sure it is tight enough. Put those clothes back on and you’re all done.

Congratulations. That is all there is to it. You’ll realize quickly that this is very easy and it is a big way to help out with a new baby at home.
